What sets this vehicle apart from the competition is its OEM-spec eight-speed automatic transmission, developed by ZF, which uses gear drives instead of chain drives for the transfer case.

The cabin can be fitted with B6 armor, which means it would be able to withstand rounds from an assault rifle, while two fuel tanks capable of holding 210 liters (55.4 gallons) and 90 liters (23.7 gallons), respectively, enable the vehicle to travel over 2,000 km (1,242 miles). South Africa-based Armormax Defense says pricing for the TAC-6 starts at around $81,500 USD.

When it comes to mobility, the TAC6 platform outperforms any full-sized 4-ton truck available today. Extensive testing across diverse landscapes in Africa and Europe has solidified its reputation as the epitome of mobility,” said
